The Baseball United Foundation has launched an initiative to provide remote instruction to baseball players throughout the world, ages 12-17.

Parents and coaches are being asked to record 15-20 seconds of video footage on their cell phones. The video is then uploaded to the cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar).

Once the footage is stored on the cloud, we download it and give it to a certified coach for analysis. The coach provides audio commentary and visual aids to explain key concepts to the player.

This initiative has been launched with the help of coach Darren Gurney. Since 1992, Coach Gurney has coached over twenty players who were selected in the MLB Draft or who went on to play professional baseball.

His instructional baseball book, Covering All the Bases, has received national recognition and rave reviews from two NY Times’ columnists. Recently, Coach Gurney published Pro Pitching Drills an instructional DVD with Miami Marlins’ starting pitcher Tom Koehler.
