Program Lets Fans Support Baseball Programs Around the World
White Plains, NY (April 12, 2021) – The Baseball United Foundation has announced a fundraising program to benefit youth baseball players in Belize.
The partnership is part of a new initiative called the Share Baseball Around the World Program. Baseball fans in America can support the Youth Baseball Association of Belize, and other international youth baseball programs, by visiting ShareBaseball.org.
“Running a youth sports program in a small country can be challenging, especially in the current uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic,” explained Anthony Smith, the President of the Youth Baseball Association of Belize. “Partnering with Baseball United will help us continue to provide an outlet for children of all ages.”
Funds raised will help with the costs of running a youth baseball program, including safety equipment, uniforms, training supplies, and field maintenance.
Belize is a Caribbean nation located in northeast Central America. The population of Belize is 420,000.
The Youth Baseball Association of Belize is based in San Jose Palmar, a village in central Belize. There are approximately 50 boys and girls playing baseball in the program.
“We’re looking forward to supporting baseball in Belize,” explained Baseball United founder John Fitzgerald. “I invite baseball fans to join the effort by visiting ShareBaseball.org.”
